Shopify & Social Media Designer

We’re on the lookout for a talented designer to join our team to work with one of our clients to help create visually appealing, on-trend, and user-friendly online stores and social media content for maternity products and pregnancy essentials. You will be working for an independently owned, mom-founded company that makes up one of the largest maternity retail groups in the US. Collaborate closely with our marketing and development teams to create seamless user experiences and visually stunning storefronts along with supportive social media content that reflect our brand ethos.

Responsibilities:
– Design visually appealing and user-friendly e-commerce websites on the Shopify platform.
– Create social media videos, designs, and other content that will create awareness and excitement about the products being offered.
– Collaborate with the client and other contractors & teams to understand brand and product requirements and social media content needs.
– Participate in technical design discussions and contribute insights and ideas to move the brand forward.
– Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and checkout processes.
– Ensure compatibility across different browsers and devices.
– Revise designs based on client feedback and conversion goals.
– Manage product listings, content updates, and promotions on Shopify sites.
– Conduct usability testing to gather feedback for design improvements.
– Stay updated on Shopify features and e-commerce design trends.

Requirements:
– Proficient in HTML, CSS, Liquid, and JavaScript.
– Experience with Shopify theme customization and development.
– Able to efficiently design based off of creative briefs.
– Experience in working with a small team and being able to work independently and give your opinions on designs.
– Experience using Figma and other common design tools.
– Knowledge of e-commerce best practices and trends.
– Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
– Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub is a plus.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
