Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

As a Video Editor at UpperCut Agency, you will play a crucial role in creating compelling content for our clients’ social media platforms. Reporting directly to the Creative Strategist, you will be responsible for editing short form videos, ensuring project management systems are up to date, and staying updated on industry trends.

*This role can turn into a Full-Time Position based on skill, performance, and client needs.*

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS

1. Short Form Video Editing

Responsibilities:
– Edit and finalize short form videos for various social media channels such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
– Work closely with the Creative Director and Content Team to ensure the videos align with the brand voice and style.

SMART Expectations:
– Specific: Edit short form videos for social media platforms, focusing on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
– Measurable: Complete each video edit within approximately 2 hours, ensuring timely delivery.
– Attainable: Have access to the necessary software and tools for video editing. Deliver each edit on time according to the project timeline.
– Relevant: Contribute to the enhancement of social media content by staying updated on industry trends and incorporating them into video edits.
– Timely: Submit the first draft of each edit by 12pm; prioritize and complete revisions by the end of the day of receiving feedback. Submit an End of Day (EOD) report detailing all completed work.

2. Project Management

Responsibilities:
– Keep project management tools such as Asana, Notion, or Slack up-to-date with the latest project information and progress.
– Communicate effectively with team members regarding project statuses, deadlines, and deliverables.
– Ensure all project-related documents and assets are organized and accessible for efficient workflow.
– Proactively identify potential roadblocks and propose solutions to ensure projects stay on track.

SMART Expectations:
– Specific: Maintain up-to-date records of project progress in project management tools.
– Measurable: Ensure all team members are informed of project updates by submitting end-of-day reports.
– Attainable: Keep project management systems organized and on schedule.
– Relevant: Support overall workflow efficiency and productivity by managing projects effectively.
– Timely: Update project management tools in real-time; communicate any delays or issues promptly to the Creative Director.

3. Social Media Trends

Responsibilities:
– Stay informed about current trends and best practices in social media content creation.
– Research emerging trends in video editing techniques, viral content, and audience preferences.
– Provide insights and recommendations to the creative team on integrating relevant trends into video content strategies.

SMART Expectations:
– Specific: Research and report on current social media trends and their potential impact on content strategy.
– Measurable: Regularly share insights and recommendations with the creative team based on social media trends and implement at least one trend into content strategy per month.
– Attainable: Incorporate trend monitoring into daily workflow without compromising on other responsibilities.
– Relevant: Apply relevant trends that align with brand identity and target audience.
– Timely: Share trend insights and recommendations with the team during weekly meetings.

INTERNAL MEETING CADENCE
– Attend twice-a-week editor meetings to discuss project updates.
– Participate in monthly training sessions and discuss content strategies.
