Skilled Illustrator for Children’s Book

We are seeking a talented and imaginative Illustrator to collaborate with us on an exciting children’s book project. As an Illustrator, you will play a crucial role in bringing our story to life through vibrant and engaging visuals. This is an opportunity to showcase your creativity and contribute to the magical world of children’s literature.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualize and create illustrations that align with the overall vision and style of the children’s book.
Collaborate closely with the author and editor to understand the story’s narrative and capture key moments and characters.
Develop and refine character designs, considering their personalities, emotions, and interactions.
Create visually appealing and age-appropriate illustrations that will resonate with young readers.
Follow established guidelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of the illustrations.
Incorporate feedback and iterate on illustrations to achieve the desired artistic vision.
Work in close collaboration with the author, editor, and publisher to maintain consistency and coherence throughout the book.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Illustrator, particularly in the field of children’s books or related projects.
A strong portfolio that showcases your artistic skills and ability to create captivating illustrations for children.
Proficiency in digital illustration software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, etc.) and traditional drawing techniques.
Excellent understanding of composition, color theory, and storytelling through visuals.
Ability to adapt and work within established artistic styles, as well as the flexibility to explore new styles if required.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the author, editor, and publisher throughout the illustration process.
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Additional Skills (preferred but not required):

Experience illustrating for diverse age groups within the children’s book genre.
Knowledge of printing processes and specifications for children’s books.
Basic understanding of typography and layout design.
