OVERVIEW

Position: Graphic Designer & Feed Curator
Agency Name: Edge Creative
Reports directly to: Creative Director

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS

1. Graphic Designer for Social Media

Responsibilities:

– Create graphic feed posts, carousels, and reel cover photos for our clients’ Instagram accounts. Occasionally, create graphics for our video editing team to use in their edits.

Expectations:

– Design 1 feed carousel and 2-3 reel cover photos per week for each client. Design additional infographics for videos as needed.
– All graphics should align with the client’s brand guidelines and pass the review process.
– Utilize provided copy to create visually engaging and brand-consistent graphics.
– Ensure all designs are completed and uploaded for review by the set deadlines.
– Deliver each graphic on time, adhering to the weekly content schedule.

Graphic Design Skills:

– Proficiency in Design Software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, Other graphic design tools
– Knowledge of Social Media Platforms: Understanding the requirements and best practices for Instagram, including dimensions, formats, and types of posts.
– Branding and Visual Identity: Ability to create designs that align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
– Typography and Layout: Strong grasp of typography, color theory, and layout principles to create visually appealing designs.
– Creativity and Innovation: Ability to generate creative ideas and bring them to life through design.

2. Feed Aesthetic Manager

Responsibilities:

– Manage the aesthetic of each client’s Instagram feed to ensure it meets unique brand guidelines and objectives.

Expectations:

– Ensure that the visual layout and design elements of each client’s feed are cohesive and aligned with their brand.
– Maintain a visually appealing and consistent feed that meets clients’ expectations.
– Regularly review and adjust the feed’s aesthetic based on client feedback and engagement metrics.
– Utilize available tools and resources to curate a compelling visual story for each client.
– Provide weekly updates on feed aesthetics and implement changes promptly.

Feed Aesthetic Management Skills:

– Aesthetic Sensibility: Strong sense of visual aesthetics and ability to curate a cohesive and visually appealing Instagram feed.
– Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure that all design elements are consistent and visually aligned.
– Knowledge of Engagement Metrics: Understanding how design and aesthetics impact engagement and the ability to adjust strategies based on these metrics.

3. Communication and Project Management

Responsibilities:

– Update task status in Notion, communicate with the Lead Strategist as needed, and ensure smooth project workflow.

Expectations:

– Update the status of each graphic project in Notion daily.
– Ensure 100% of project updates are accurately reflected in Notion.
– Communicate effectively with the Lead Strategist and Creative Director to resolve any design or scheduling issues.
– Maintain open lines of communication and proactively address any potential delays.
– Send an End of Day (EOD) form summarizing all work completed.

Communication and Project Management Skills:

– Project Management Tools: Proficiency in using Notion or similar project management tools to update task status and manage workflow.
– Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with the Lead Strategist and Creative Director.
– Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule.
– Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with the video editing team, social media team, and clients.

4. Social Media Posting

Responsibilities:

– Post content on social media, including downloading post content, copying the caption, posting, ensuring that the post is uploaded correctly, and maintaining a cohesive look in the feed.

Expectations:

– Download post content, copy the caption, post the content, and ensure it looks cohesive in the feed.
– Verify that all posts are published without errors and align with the planned feed aesthetic.
– Use provided content and captions to post accurately and in accordance with the schedule.
– Confirm that all posts are uploaded correctly and maintain a consistent and visually appealing feed.
– Post content on schedule and check for correctness immediately after posting.

Social Media Posting Skills

– Platform Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Instagram and its features, including posting processes, reels, and feed management.
– Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure all posts are published accurately, with no typos or errors in captions, and that images are uploaded correctly.
– Content Management: Experience in managing digital content, including downloading and organizing media files and captions.
– Time Management: Ability to adhere to a posting schedule and manage time effectively to ensure timely posting.
– Analytical Skills: Basic knowledge of Instagram analytics to monitor post performance and make data-driven adjustments.
– Problem-Solving: Capability to quickly resolve any issues that arise during the posting process, such as formatting errors or upload failures.

INTERNAL MEETING CADENCE

– Monthly Meetings: Attend 1 meeting per month with the social media team to discuss ongoing projects and strategies.
– Quarterly Meetings: Participate in 1 meeting per quarter with the Creative Director to review performance and set future goals.
