We are seeking a creative, technically proficient, and trend-savvy Video Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into finished projects that match the director’s vision and resonate with modern social media audiences, particularly on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, Threads, and LinkedIn.

Key Responsibilities

– Edit video footage and raw material to create high-quality final products, with a focus on short-form, engaging content for social media
– Take clips from long-form video content and repurpose them into engaging, platform-specific content for Instagram, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms
– Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
– Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects
– Create rough and final cuts
– Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of video content
– Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to determine the vision and direction of projects
– Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
– Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
– Stay up-to-date with current editing software, technologies, and social media trends
– Experiment with new editing techniques and styles to keep content fresh and engaging
– Optimize video content for each specific platform, considering aspect ratios, duration limits, and audience preferences

Required Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video Production, or related field
– Proven work experience as a Video Editor or similar role
– Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages, specifically:
– Adobe Premiere Pro
– Adobe After Effects
– Descript
– Strong understanding of timing, motivation, and continuity
– Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing
– Creative mind and storytelling skills
– Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
– Excellent communication skills
– OBSESSED with Reels / TikTok and trending media
– Loves experimenting with new editing styles and techniques
– Deep understanding of social media trends and what makes content go viral
– Proficiency in repurposing long-form content into engaging short-form videos for various social media platforms

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience with motion graphics and animation
– Knowledge of audio editing and sound design
– Familiarity with color correction techniques
– Experience with multi-camera editing
– Portfolio demonstrating a range of video editing projects, including short-form content for social media and examples of repurposed long-form content
