We’re seeking a highly qualified, skilled, experienced individual with Software Patent experience to join our growing company. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in creating and filing Canadian and US patents for software applications. You should have a passion for protecting intellectual property. Experience working as a Patent Attorney/Agent a plus.
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
We need someone who can work with minimal supervision. Someone who can work on their own and respond to directions ASAP.
You are a highly motivated self-starter with the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs. You have excellent people and communication skills to confidently work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:?
Patent Drafting:
– Collaborate with our development teams to understand the technical aspects of our software applications.
– Prepare detailed and effective patent applications to protect our innovative software solutions.
Patent Submission and Filing:
– Assist with the submission and filing process for Canadian and US patents, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and timelines.
Legal Research:
-Stay abreast of changes in patent laws and regulations in Canada and the United States.
– Conduct thorough legal research to support patent applications and maintain compliance.
Collaboration:
-Work closely with internal teams, including legal, and software developers, to gather information essential for patent applications.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL SET:??
Must have experience with Canada and U.S. patents including drafting, docketing, document preparation, and filling for software applications.
-Strong understanding of software development principles and technologies.
-Strong research and investigative skills.
– Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
– Experience in copyright, patent, and trademark cases.
– Knowledge of Canadian and US patent laws and procedures.
– Willingness to learn, grow and collaborate.?
– Excellent communication skills, and attention to detail with the ability to write and or speak confidently and professionally if required.?
WORK SCHEDULE/ WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT/ SETUP REQUIREMENTS:?
– Part-Time, 50 hours a month, average 12 hours a week.?
– Be available between the hours of 9 AM to 11 AM or 7PM – 10 PM Toronto Time
– Have a dedicated workspace, computer and reliable internet access.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
– 3+ years’ experience in creating US and Canadian patents for software applications
