Software tester / QA

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled software tester / QA to join our dynamic team and ensure the high quality and performance of our mobile app, desktop app, and web platforms. As a software tester / QA, you will be responsible for identifying and documenting issues and collaborating closely with the development team to ensure product delivery to our users. You will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth user experience and maintaining the reliability of our applications across multiple platforms.

– Contract Duration: 3 months, with a 1-month trial period (paid). Based on performance, the contract may be renewed for an additional 3 months, with no limit on extensions
– Working hours: 9AM – 5PM Eastern time (ET)
– Work Environment: This is a dynamic environment with challenging features, releases, and user-facing issues. Weekly work hours may exceed 40 hours per week, with overtime hours being paid

Responsibilities:

-Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for mobile apps, desktop apps, and web platforms to ensure the functionality, usability, performance, and security of our software.
-Conduct manual testing of applications, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
-Identify, record, and track software defects using bug tracking systems, and work closely with developers to ensure proper resolution of issues.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to understand project requirements and provide QA insights throughout the software development life cycle.
-Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.
-Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
-Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in mobile, desktop, and web technologies to enhance the quality assurance process.
-As a remote company, we expect that you actively initiate and participate in discussions, conversations, and channels relevant to your role and projects.

Requirements:

-At least 4 years of experience as a software tester or a similar role, with a focus on testing mobile apps, desktop apps, and web platforms.
-Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
-Proficiency in exploratory testing and testing tools
-Experience with bug tracking systems and version control systems.
-Solid knowledge of testing concepts such as functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
-Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a remote team environment.
