Portiva started in 2009 with our mission to help Doctors and Medical Practitioners manage their practices better. Since then, Portiva has grown from a 3-person operation to one of the largest and most successful Medical and Dental Staff Providing Companies in the United States.

We are looking for an experienced Medical Virtual Assistant to provide administrative support to US-based doctors, nurses, or other healthcare professionals in their clinical practice. The candidate should have fluency and comprehension in the English and Spanish languages, providing excellent patient care service through calls and emails.

As a Medical Virtual Assistant, your tasks could include patient scheduling, prescription refills, insurance verification, medical billing, and maintaining patient medical records. For this role, a strong Internet connection is required, along with experience using communication tools like Skype.

Ultimately, you should be able to handle administrative tasks and deliver high-quality work under minimum supervision.

This is a full-time position, 30/40 hrs a week
The rate is $7 an hour or Php 45,000 to Php 61,000+ per month

Responsibilities
S P A N I S H Speaking Virtual Assistant – Customer service background with medical experience is preferred

Managing inbound and outbound calls to and from patients, providers, and healthcare insurance companies regarding inquiries, appointments, and data verification (maintains great phone etiquette)
Obtaining medical history; Navigating through different EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as “Cerner, Epic, AthenaNet/AthenaHealth, NextGen”, Practice Fusion, Kareo, EClinical Works
Verifying the healthcare insurance coverage and eligibility
Providing administrative support which includes (data entry, appointment scheduling, email management, record management, and time-keeping)
In charge of health promotion, explaining care plans, admissions, new patient intake, and front-desk triage
Establishing a professional relationship with medical professionals and patients; Acts as a primary liaison between patients and providers
Strict adherence and compliance with the HIPAA policy
Medical Scribing

Requirements and skills
Degree in medical and health sciences
Excellent English/SPANISH speaking skills (both oral and written proficiency)
At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical-related background, Worked previously as VA in a medical setting or Worked locally at a Doctors’ office.
Experience in US healthcare and Medical scribing is a plus but is not required
HIPAA Certification is a plus
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and/or G Suite and other technology tools
Able to manage time effectively and efficiently
Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, tasks, schedules, and information
