REMOTE: We are attempting to expand our sports writers remote! Our Idea two part:

1. Watching our teams film of a sports game we covered and doing a write up on it
2. Providing weekly write ups using the scores and stats from local games
3. Doing research on players based on their information, website etc and providing sports write ups

Are you a talented writer with experience in prep sports news and coverage, looking to join the new wave of sports media with the leading Sports Media organization in Las Vegas?

We are looking to expand our growing team of sports news writers in Las Vegas covering Prep Sports and are recruiting new talent!

This role is excellent for anyone with a passion for sports and involves covering and reacting to breaking news stories and the high school prep sports seasons.

We’re looking for candidates who want to gain experience and become established sportswriters, and we can promise a platform and guidance to achieve that goal. Working closely with our Content Management team and Sports Editor Lead, the ideal candidate will be required to produce precise, crisp, and consistent copy focusing on games across the valley.

• Covering live Las Vegas HS Prep sporting events such as games or competitions, reviewing the performance of individual players, and interviewing participants
• Covering breaking news stories about the Las Vegas preps sports teams, schools, players, and organizations
• Interviewing athletes, coaches, owners, and other key figures in the preps sports industry to gather information for stories
• Writing articles that analyze current trends in the sports world and predict future developments
• Preparing research materials such as statistics and background information on players and teams
• Reporting on breaking news stories as they happen, including injuries and other key details
• Interviewing coaches and team staff to get their perspective on recent events in their sport or league
• Writing articles about specific sports and topics related to those sports, such as equipment or training techniques
• Interviewing experts in the field to gather information for stories on topics such as health and fitness, injuries, nutrition, and mental health issues
• The candidates must have a knowledge of WordPress CMS or be willing to learn how to publish articles on a digital platform
• The candidates must have experience writing sports news stories or covering sports.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• High attention to detail
A background in sports or detailed sports knowledge of a particular or multiple sports
