Job Description: Full-Time Staff Accountant

Location: Remote

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant is a pivotal member of the finance team, responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of the company’s financial operations. This includes quickbooks management, data entry, bill payments, invoicing, month-end close procedures, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also has the capability to drive operational efficiencies and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

QuickBooks Management: Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks; ensure that the system is utilized efficiently and effectively.

Data Entry: Enter financial data accurately and timely, ensuring that all transactions are recorded.

Bill Payments: Oversee the bill payment process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.

Invoicing: Generate, send, and track invoices to clients or customers. Ensure timely collection and address any discrepancies.

Month-End Close: Complete month-end close procedures including reconciliation of accounts, preparing journal entries, and producing monthly financial reports.

Payroll: Process company payroll, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. Address any payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies.

Process Improvements: Evaluate existing accounting and financial processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to drive operational efficiencies.

Compliance: Ensure all financial operations are conducted in accordance with company policies, federal, state, and local financial regulations.

Reporting: Prepare regular reports for management, highlighting financial performance, trends, and potential issues.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support company-wide initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.

Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Demonstrated experience in creating processes and driving operational efficiencies.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or other relevant certification.

Experience in Healthcare or Staffing industries.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Remote full time position, 50 hours a week.
