Superstar Senior Tax Accountant

We are looking for an accountant with 5 + years experience working in an Australian accounting firm who has aspirations to manage a small team in the not too distant future. Doing all of the usual accounting firm and tax things… See the list of the key ones below:
– Preparation of financial statements, tax and other returns for companies, trusts & individuals
– Managing the lodgement program for the firm
– Preparation & review of activity statements (BAS/IAS)
– Preparation of Fringe Benefit Returns
– Direct contact with clients and other external service providers
– Assisting with tax planning
– Support junior team member and bookkeeper

Other requirements:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Commerce
– CPA or CA accreditation (desirable).
– Experience with end of year taxation for all client entities, including individuals, companies, trusts & partnerships
– Experience with preparing Business Activity Statements and understanding of Australian GST rules
– Knowledge or experience with Xero
– Experience with Fringe Benefits Tax Return preparation (desirable)
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
– Commercial awareness and problem solving skills

Ideally working hours would be Mon- Fri 830am-5pm however you have the option of doing extended hours Mon – Thurs and have Friday off.
