Talented Video Editor/Content Creator for Travel Reels

Job Summary:

I’m Nic Laprade, a 24-year-old Canadian digital nomad and micro-influencer on Instagram, inviting a talented Video Editor/Content Creator to join me in crafting engaging Instagram Reels. I’ve just returned from a 3-month adventure in Colombia, with tons of footage from Medellin, Bogota, Santa Marta, Barranquilla, Tayrona Park, Palomino, and Guatape. We will start with an urgent project over the next two weeks, creating 3-5 reels and memory videos for Colombia.

In two weeks, on July 6th, I will embark on a 3-month Euro trip, dedicating my time to full-time traveling and content creation. This project will involve creating 10-15 reels for Europe. If you have a flair for storytelling, a good ear for music (especially reggaeton, EDM, and techno), and a passion for travel, this project is for you.

About Me:

I am a young entrepreneur who is looking for someone chill to work with, who can follow me and recreate my trips through the reels that we create together. After my Euro trip, I will be in great need of an excellent video editor whom I can trust for videos and content for my multiple ventures. I love traveling, discovering the world, and understanding our differences in cultures, which is why I went to Colombia solo without knowing anyone there. Life is great and full of joy, and I want a friend to join me on my trips, so it’s important that we also get along. I enjoy sports, fitness, business, and traveling. The videos need to represent the euphoria of my trips. My image wasn’t that important to me in the past, but it is now that I am launching multiple businesses. I need my person to also be able to edit 30-60 seconds videos for the businesses, but that is a focus for later on. The storytelling will be up to you; I will explain what I did chronologically, and you will then go through the videos, figure out the best shots, and post them. Ideally, we are aiming to make these videos viral, but it’s more for brand image and setting a tone for my new lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create Instagram Reels: Edit 3-5 Instagram Reels and memory videos, each 5-20 seconds in length, potentially longer based on content, starting with footage from Colombia.
• For Colombia, I have about 1200 videos and photos combined with a few GoPro shots. I want a video for each city and a recap country post, totaling around 5, depending on your judgment.
• Future Projects: Prepare for the creation of 10-15 Instagram Reels for the upcoming Euro trip.
• Incorporate Diverse Footage: Utilize footage from various sources, including drone and GoPro videos, to produce dynamic content.
• Utilize AI Tools: Combine the efficiency of AI video editing tools (e.g., InVideo, Magisto, Adobe Premiere Rush) with your creative touch.
• Build Brand Image: Develop a consistent and engaging brand image through high-quality video content.
• Manage Multiple Projects: Efficiently handle multiple projects with varying travel content, ensuring timely delivery and high standards.
• Live My Trips Virtually: Experience and recreate my trips through video creation, understanding and showcasing the essence and euphoria of each journey.
• Consulting: Provide consulting for the projects, including constructive feedback on how to improve content and workflow.

Qualifications:

• Proven Ability in Video Editing: Demonstrated experience in video editing with a portfolio showcasing short-form content, including work with drone and GoPro footage.
• Creativity and Adaptability: Ability to bring fresh ideas to each project and adapt to different styles and themes.
• Proficiency in English: Strong communication skills to discuss project requirements and feedback. Knowledge of French and Spanish would be a surprising bonus and will be considered.
• Understanding of Digital Nomad Lifestyle: Ability to connect with a young, adventurous audience.
• Access to Required Tools: Must have access to necessary video editing software and any required memberships or subscriptions to produce high-quality content.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Interest in Music: Preference for candidates who enjoy reggaeton, EDM, and techno, and can sync video content with these music genres.
• Experience in Social Media Growth: Knowledge of strategies to enhance Instagram presence and engagement.

Compensation:

• Project-Based: Compensation will be discussed and determined based on the scope of all videos. For Colombia, this will be a package deal. For Europe, it will depend on the content I have, likely involving 10-15 reels with the possibility of more pay if more videos are required.

I could do a good job alone with AI tools, but to have an edge, I need one of you. This way, I can focus on filming content, and you can bring your expertise to make it exceptional. I will present a vision, and you will create. I believe in entrusting my team to perform at their best without constant oversight.
