Tax Preparation Data Entry Specialist

Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Tax Preparation Data Entry Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our tax preparation process by accurately entering and organizing financial data for our clients’ tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry:

Input and review financial data, including income, expenses, deductions, and credits, into tax preparation software.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data entries.
Maintain a high level of data security and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.

Record Management:

Organize and maintain electronic and physical client records for easy retrieval and reference.
Assist in the organization and categorization of tax-related documents and records.

Communication:

Collaborate with tax preparers and clients to clarify data entry requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
Provide support in responding to client inquiries and requests for information.

Compliance:

Adhere to tax regulations and guidelines to ensure the accurate preparation of tax returns.
Stay updated on tax laws and changes that may impact data entry and reporting.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
Proven experience in data entry or a related role with strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with tax preparation software and tools (e.g., TaxSlayer).
Basic knowledge of tax laws, deductions, and credits is a bonus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with data entry software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
