THE ROLE
We are looking for a well-rounded self-employed qualified TAX SENIOR to work remotely in the Philippines, able to think out of the box and with a firm grasp of the needs of a diverse portfolio of clients and become a team player working in co-ordination with the leadership team of the A.C.T. group.

THE KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE ARE:

PRIVATE CLIENT TAX
• Act as a key point of contact within the department, be client facing and work together with the Head of Tax
• The administration of a portfolio of Private clients to include the preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for a broad range of clients from stakeholders in privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses, executives of multi-national firms, to senior members of private equity firms many who are not domiciled and not resident in the UK
• Provide advice across a range of topics to include income tax reliefs, residence and domicile, the remittance basis of taxation, capital gains tax and inheritance tax

CORPORATE / INTERNATIONAL TAX
• Act as a key point of contact for corporate and international tax matters for a wide range of clients including publicly listed entities, private equity backed as well as privately owned businesses
• Prepare VAT Returns and give ad hoc advice on VAT implications for clients
• Prepare ATED Returns and advise clients on income from property including SDLT
• Prepare Corporation Tax Computations
• Review first draft Corporation Tax Computations, VAT Returns and ATED Returns
• Provide advice across a range of topics to include multi-jurisdictional tax compliance, cross-border transactions and UK inbound/outbound investments, international tax and UK tax due diligence, permanent establishments, CFC rules, tax residence, mergers and acquisitions and corporate structuring

• Respond quickly to, as well as anticipate client requests/needs, keep clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided and maintain regular contact with clients
• Recognize and keep the Leadership Team informed about, any new business opportunities for own and other departments arising on existing and new clients
• Liaise with HMRC, clients, banks, other professionals
• Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keep all parties informed of overruns
• Ensure that the firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to
• Identify risk and technical matters, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters
• Provide overall compliance and technical support on client matters
• Research technical tax issues and keep abreast of any new tax legislations
• Assist in compliance matters including the administrative tasks related to client on-boarding processes and ongoing risk monitoring (KYC, AML etc)
• Actively participate in bids/proposals for new work
• Manage WIP and Billing process
• Any other tasks as directed by the Leadership Team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum 5 years of experience working in a tax advisory and tax compliance department of the TOP 10 tax and accounting firms in the Philippines
• Ideally ATT/CTA qualified ; we are open to high performing applicants with other relevant tax experience who hold a suitable foreign tax or accounting qualification
• Strong organization skills
• Fluency (native language) in at least 1 of the major European languages (Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Russian or Turkish) ideal
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects to meet deadlines
• Excellent level of Microsoft Office Suite, IRIS, Dynamics, Sage, OneSource, Digita
• Sound knowledge of UK personal income and corporate taxation and awareness of non-domiciled clients and international tax issues
