Overview: We are seeking a talented and versatile Technical Writer and Demo Video Creator to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Writer and Demo Video Creator, you will be responsible for crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation, as well as creating engaging demo videos to illustrate product features and functionalities for a SAAS platform. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and creativity to effectively convey complex information to various audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Documentation:
• Develop user guides, manuals, API documentation, and other technical documents to assist users in understanding product features and functionalities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and support engineers to gather necessary information for documentation.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all technical documentation produced.
• Continuously update and improve existing documentation based on user feedback and product changes.
2. Demo Video Creation:
• Plan, script, and produce engaging demo videos to showcase product features, workflows, and best practices.
• Utilise screen recording software and editing tools to create polished and professional demo videos.
• Incorporate visual aids, animations, and voice-over narration to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of demo videos.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align demo video content with overall product messaging and branding.
3. Content Optimization and Localization:
• Optimize content for SEO to improve discoverability and search rankings of technical documentation and demo videos.
• Adapt documentation and demo videos for localization to cater to global audiences, ensuring cultural relevance and language accuracy.
4. Quality Assurance:
• Conduct thorough reviews and testing of technical documentation and demo videos to identify and address any inaccuracies or inconsistencies.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in technical writing and video production.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience in technical writing, including creating user guides, API documentation, or similar materials.
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, or Final Cut Pro.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation and videos.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience with software development or familiarity with programming languages is a plus.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
