This position is responsible for producing clear, precise, and comprehensive user manuals and instructions which may include screen printing equipment, as well medical carts. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, engineers, and subject matter experts to create documentation that assists users in the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Bergmann Group products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation:
• Research and write user manuals, operation guides, maintenance instructions, and troubleshooting documentation for capital equipment.
• Translate complex technical information into user-friendly content with clear and concise language.
2. Collaboration with Experts:
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product designers, and other subject matter experts to gather in-depth knowledge about the capital equipment and its features.
• Attend meetings, conduct interviews, and perform hands-on equipment evaluation to understand its specifications and user requirements.
3. Documentation Structure:
• Organize content logically, ensuring the documentation follows a user-friendly structure.
• Utilize headings, lists, tables, illustrations, and diagrams to enhance the readability and usability of the manuals.
4. Visual Aids:
• Work with engineering and marketing to incorporate images, diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings that clarify setup, operation, and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure that visual aids contribute to user comprehension and facilitate effective equipment use.
5. Review and Editing:
• Proofread and edit documentation to eliminate errors in grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
• Verify the accuracy of technical details, safety instructions, and troubleshooting steps.
6. User Testing:
• Assist with user testing to gather feedback and insights, and use this feedback to make necessary improvements to the documentation.
7. Compliance and Standards:
• Stay informed about industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines relevant to capital equipment documentation.
• Ensure that all documentation adheres to these standards.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in technical writing, specifically in creating user manuals and instructions for capital equipment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in using documentation software such as Microsoft Word, Adobe, or similar tools.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality documentation.
• An understanding of the technical aspects of capital equipment and the capacity to communicate complex information clearly.
• Knowledge of document design principles, visual communication, and layout design.
• Familiarity with collaborative tools.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Engineering, or a related discipline, is an advantage. Experience will be considered in place of a degree.
