Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and innovative YouTube Thumbnail Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating compelling thumbnails specifically tailored for adult audiences in the podcasting and educational sectors. The portfolio’s quality will be the primary criterion for evaluation, with no specific requirement for years of experience.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Adherence to Brand Guidelines: Must be capable of working within established brand guidelines to create thumbnails that align with our brand’s identity.
2. Up-to-Date with YouTube Best Practices: Should have a thorough understanding of current YouTube best practices, including knowledge of recent updates and innovations in the platform.
3. Photo Manipulation Skills: Proficiency in photo manipulation is essential, with a focus on incorporating people into thumbnail designs.
4. Collaboration within a Creative Team: Experience working within a creative team is highly preferable, demonstrating the ability to contribute to and enhance collaborative projects.
5. Specialization in Podcasting and Educational Content: Preferably has experience working with creators in podcasting and educational content.
6. A/B Testing and Analytics: Applicants who can demonstrate how their designs have improved click-through rates using A/B testing tools like TubeBuddy will be prioritized. Effective + Visually pleasing design is the goal.
7. Focus on Effective Design: We value designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also effective in driving engagement. We are not interested in clickbait content aimed at children.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven portfolio showcasing high-quality thumbnail designs.
2. Expertise in photo manipulation and graphic design tools.
3. Strong understanding of YouTube’s platform and user behavior.
4. Experience in creating thumbnails for podcasting and adult educational content.
5. Demonstrated ability to use A/B testing tools to enhance design effectiveness.
