Trademark Attorney or Paralegal

TMBTQ is seeking an experienced trademark and IP law professional to join our small but mighty, growing law firm. Do you dream of drafting the perfect document? Does a clean trademark search report give you thrills and chills? If so, this might be your dream job!

?We are an entrepreneurial trademark firm on track for aggressive growth and we need an experienced trademark lawyer to join our team. We are known for helping our clients protect their businesses and brands.

We need an experienced attorney or paralegal who can do the following:

Search for use and availability of new trademarks; analyze and prepare written communications regarding results of trademark searches;

Filing new trademark applications;

Preparing copyright applications;

Finding appropriate specimens of use for Statements of Use and Renewals (and then filing those documents);

Researching and preparing persuasive Responses to Office Actions from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on issues such as descriptiveness or likelihood of confusion;

Proactively monitoring clients’ trademarks for infringement;

Preparing Letters of Protest, Cease and desist letters or correspondence to opposing parties when necessary;

Drafting documents in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters;

Other projects as assigned.

NECESSARY CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALITIES

You feel a sense of urgency and understand that trademark filings are time sensitive. Not because you want to get it off of your plate and cruise the internet, but because you want to give our clients answers to their burning questions sooner rather than later

You respond promptly to communications

You have a sickening degree of attention to detail

You will keep contemporaneous time entries and use our preferred practice management system and not burden our legal assistant with handwritten time entries, random emails, or other unacceptable ways of keeping track of your time

You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly

You do not whine about tasks that are “beneath you”

We love to help people learn and grow. But we don’t have the time for that right now.

We need a trademark attorney with experience in both trademark prosecution and disputes as well as copyright law.

You have at least several years of experience in trademark law. You’re willing to put your head down and get serious about work, while avoiding distractions and the siren call of social media. Trademark law IS your dream job. The ideal candidate will be able to take the initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand holding.

You must be willing to work at least four U.S. business hours (9-5 MST) and be available during the U.S. workday. Compensation is per project or hourly as we mutually agree.
