Translator English to Spanish

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English to Spanish Translator to join our team on a freelance basis. The translator will be responsible for translating book manuscripts from English to Spanish, ensuring the final product is of the highest quality and resonates with our Spanish-speaking audience.

We are a top-quality oriented publishing business and will not accept any average results.

Contract Type: Independent Remote Contractor.

Estimated budget: $1.2-1.8/100 words.

Estimated work time: nearly full time 30-40 h/week.

Key Responsibilities:
• Translate book manuscripts from English to Spanish while maintaining the original tone, style, and nuances of the text.
• Ensure translations are culturally appropriate and tailored to the target audience.
• Conduct self-reviews to ensure translations are free of errors and idiomatic issues.
• Work closely with editors to resolve any linguistic discrepancies and ensure consistency across the text.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with the project team to incorporate feedback and revisions from proofreaders and editors.
• Adjust translations based on targeted reader feedback when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Native-level proficiency in Spanish with an excellent command of English.
• A proven track record of high-quality translation work, preferably with experience in book translation or related fields.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in translation and an understanding of the subject matter.
• A degree in Translation, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Professional experience in finance and business or higher education.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to linguistic detail and a passion for preserving the author’s voice across languages.
• Copywriting and SEO skills are highly valued.
