Role Overview: As our Transportation Manager, you will be pivotal in managing and optimizing our transportation operations to ensure they are efficient, timely, and cost-effective. If you’re seeking a conventional 8-5 pm managerial job, this position might not be for you. You will be instrumental in understanding our drivers’ diverse skills, ensuring your team of dispatchers is effectively coordinated, and directly handling customer service issues when they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and improve transportation operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Utilize knowledge of USA geography for optimal routing.
Understand each driver’s strengths and preferences to maximize performance.
Manage and support a team of dispatchers for seamless operations.
Address customer service issues promptly and effectively.
Operate independently with minimal supervision, reflecting the company owners’ work ethic.
Analyze and manage profit/loss statements to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Significant experience in the expedited freight or logistics industry.
Deep understanding of USA geography for efficient route planning.
Demonstrated ability to manage a team under pressure.
Excellent command of English, both in writing and speaking.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Independent, proactive work style.
Proficiency in mathematics, with a strong understanding of profit and loss, critical for making informed financial decisions.
Availability to work according to the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone, accommodating night hours in your local time zone to meet our business needs.
