Our travel concierges are at the heart of our service. Using our technology and your skills and experiences, you’ll help craft unforgettable, personalized travel experiences for our clients.
You’ll help research and design travel for our clients, answer their questions, and serve as a friendly guide as our clients embark on their journeys. Here’s some concrete examples of tasks we’d expect our travel concierges to do:
Find awesome and unique hotels for our clients to stay in. We’ll supply some technology to help with this, but good research skills are key.
Identify some great restaurants for clients to dine at.
Chat with clients directly when they’re on their trip to check in on how their journeys are going.
Be able to answer common questions about a given destination (or be able to research that answer for them quickly). Even better if you can relate with your own personal travel experiences (although not a requirement).
Get to know clients on a personal level — we want to forge relationships and hopefully keep handling their travel in the future.
Concierges will also help us set up research general topics that help us (and you!) with future trips. Some example tasks here include:
Learn about the main neighborhoods in London and what there is to do in each of them
Compile a list of the best Celiac-friendly restaurants in Chiang Mai
Research the visa requirements for US citizens traveling to various countries in Asia.
Research the best honeymoon destinations in a given region.
Requirements
Excellent research skills and ability to learn about new travel destinations quickly.
Ability to think on your feet and identify the ideal way to break down a larger task. Many times clients will ask you to look into something but they (a) won’t ask it very clearly, (b) won’t exactly know what they want, and (c) won’t be able to dictate to you exactly how to do it. As such, stellar concierges know how to identify follow up questions, figure out what the client is really looking for, create and execute a plan to handle the client request, and identify useful fallbacks when they can’t meet a client’s request exactly.
Detail oriented and organized: there’s tons of little details to get right with travel, and concierges need to be organized enough to handle this.
Customer empathy and hospitality mindset: your goal is to make our clients’ trips as smooth and memorable as possible, so being able to empathize with our clients and anticipate their needs is critical.
Strong command of conversational English and excellent communication skills.
Bonus Points
A personal passion for travel, and your own personal experiences exploring the world!
Fun, outgoing personality. Enjoys talking to and getting to know new people.
General knowledge about travel. We have training materials to help, but the more you already know about the world’s popular tourist destinations, hotel brands, airlines, etc. the easier your first few weeks will be!
Professional experience working in the travel or bookings industry. (This is absolutely just a bonus though — one of our best concierges has no prior professional travel experience.)
