Tutor for teenage boy for CompTIA Security+ class and exam

Important: My Son has an F in Cyber presently, he has 2 weeks to get caught up before the grades close. He will need some intensive support for 2 weeks, and then he can work on a more casual basis with you from mid October.

Hello! My son is 17. He is autistic, but presently that really only involves him struggling with frustration at times. He could use some help staying on task. Starting and maintaining momentum for homework is his greatest challenge, in my opinion. He is in high school and he is in a Cyber Security class, level 2. This school year, and especially next school year (Cyber Security 3), are meant to prepare him to sit for and pass the CompTIA Security+ exam. I am looking for someone who knows about IT systems and security who can tutor him. Ideally, you have already passed this test as well or something similar! I don’t want someone to help him just pass and not know the material, but help him so he is able to pass his classes and eventually the CompTIA Security+ exam because he worked hard and learned what he needed to know. Computer security may not be his career choice, but he does love computers and I want him to have as many opportunities in life as possible, and I see this as one opportunity for him. This is a topic we as parents just don’t know (who has Linux on their personal PC?) so we are hoping for help!

I have a Zoom account and someone like yourself could help him stay on top of his cyber assignments and make sure he’s turning in his homework. Assignments are listed online through Google Classroom and Infinite Campus. He tends to let it pile up and then he tries to dig out of a massive hole at the end of the quarter. Our time zone is -10 GMT.

He’s a great guy and will work well with just about anyone. He does need a firm tutor, who will get him to do the work when he doesn’t want to sometimes, like someone who doesn’t want to work out at a gym, but works with a gym trainer. Once this quarter is done, this might be 5 hours or more a week.

This could be a great long term side gig for you. He has 1.5 years left of school. If he decides to take Cyber 3, at least. Where we live our afternoon is your morning, so in the morning you can work with my Son and the rest of the day is yours.
