We are looking for a qualified and experienced accountant with UK qualifications (ACCA or ACA) to join our team and assist in various accounting and financial tasks.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA) to manage and prepare accounts, conduct audits, handle payroll, manage VAT, oversee cash flow, perform forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Xero software and will be responsible for implementing systemised processes to support company growth, development, and exit strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Management and Preparation:
Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations.
Prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
Audits:
Conduct thorough and detailed company audits.
Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Payroll Management:
Manage and process payroll accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
Handle payroll queries and issues.
VAT Management:
Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns.
Ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
Handle VAT inspections and queries.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and reports.
Identify and address cash flow issues promptly.
Forecasting and Budgeting:
Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets.
Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts.
Provide analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Reporting and Variance Analysis:
Prepare and present regular financial reports.
Conduct variance analysis and identify key trends and issues.
Provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
Xero Software Expertise:
Utilize Xero software for all accounting tasks.
Provide training and support to team members on Xero.
Stay updated with Xero features and updates.
Systemised Processes and Company Growth:
Develop and implement systemised processes for accounting and financial management.
Support company growth and development initiatives.
Assist in creating exit strategies for businesses.
Requirements
Qualified accountant with ACCA or ACA certification.
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in UK accounting
Extensive experience in UK accounting and financial management.
Experience in audit processes and compliance.
Expert-level proficiency in Xero accounting software.
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Knowledge of payroll management and HMRC regulations.
Familiarity with VAT regulations and submission processes.
Experience in cash flow management and forecasting.
Ability to develop and implement systemised processes.
Strategic thinking and ability to support business growth and development.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
