We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join our team. You will be accountable for accounting functions concerning value add/development properties. Reporting to the CFO, this role involves daily interaction with property managers, project managers, and other accounting personnel.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement/reporting packages.
-Conduct monthly bank account reconciliations.
-Generate journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
-Perform various account reconciliations.
-Execute development accounting activities such as job cost reporting, budget to actuals, and percentage completion assessments.
-Support project managers with construction loan draws.
-Complete ad hoc reporting as delegated.
-Conduct diverse accounting analyses on value add/development properties.
-Monitor daily cash balances for value add/development properties.
-Aid the CFO in yearly tax preparation.
-Facilitate the yearly Financial Statement audit by responding to audit requests for items such as invoices, payments, and bank and loan support items.
-Assist management with special projects and other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to real estate or property development.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
-Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus
-Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
-Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
-Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
-Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
-CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
This is a full-time role (40 hours). Working hours are from Monday to Friday 8am-5pm PST, slightly flexible on start and end times.
