As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately estimating costs and ensuring the success and profitability of the projects. Your expertise in quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, vendor coordination, meticulous documentation, and record-keeping will contribute to the overall efficiency and excellence of our projects.

Job Description:
Review construction project plans, specifications, and related documents to gain a thorough understanding of the scope of work.
Conduct accurate material quantity takeoffs from the project documents.
Utilize the takeoff quantities to prepare cost estimates. This involves analyzing the materials, labor, and equipment required for the project and applying appropriate unit costs.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, pricing information, and lead times. Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Prepare detailed takeoff reports, cost estimates, and other relevant documentation.
Maintain accurate records of all calculations, quantities, and cost data. Perform work using the company formats and Excel templates.
Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements, resolve any discrepancies or issues, and ensure an accurate understanding of scope.
Assist with the preparation and organization of contracts and other digital documents.
To know and use the PCA and SSPC standards as a basis for your measurements and take-off approaches.
Receive, log, and organize RFI’s submitted from contractors and architects.
Collaborate with estimator and project managers to process and create change order requests.
Maintain accurate record of RFI’s and change orders.

To attend and participate in all company-related functions, huddles, and meetings (estimator weekly meetings, incentive meetings, Foremen meetings, billing meetings, etc.) in as much as remote access allows, actively and constructively contributing as possible.
Provide a professional and business-like appearance & conduct in all company-related activities and events, carrying out responsibilities in an efficient and timely manner.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of residential/commercial painting processes, materials, and methods.
Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and related documents.
Takeoff Software: Experience with construction takeoff software tools, such as Planswift, Procore Estimating, or similar applications.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates, leaving no room for errors.
Cost Estimation Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, including knowledge of material and labor costs, as well as an understanding of market trends.
Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with project teams, vendors, and suppliers.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues during the takeoff process.
Skill Expectations:
Experience bidding on architectural coatings and meeting requirements.
Expert skills in plan reading and use of specifications, ITBs, Bid Forms, BidBoard, and bidding protocols.
Advanced skills in the use of Planswift, Google and Microsoft Suites, , and other software used in the development of bids and communications with the Company.
A willingness to learn other tools and take-off short-cuts which may be not as well-known, but have been developed or used by the company to assist in accurate and fast take-offs.
Excellent math and communication (oral and written) skills in English.
