Job Title: US Taxation and Audit Assistant
Job Summary:
The US Taxation and Audit Assistant supports the tax and audit teams in preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with US tax laws and regulations. This role involves detailed documentation, client communication, and assisting in the implementation of efficient tax strategies and audit procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Tax Support:

Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
Gather and organize financial data from clients for tax preparation.
Conduct preliminary tax research and analysis to support senior tax professionals.
Help in identifying potential tax credits and deductions to optimize tax liabilities.
Audit Assistance:

Support audit teams in planning and executing audit engagements.
Assist in preparing audit work papers and documenting audit findings.
Verify accuracy of financial statements and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve audit-related queries.
Compliance and Documentation:

Maintain and update tax and audit files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and documentation for regulatory authorities.
Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assist in implementing necessary changes in procedures.
Client Communication:

Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing tax and audit-related inquiries.
Assist in drafting client correspondence, including engagement letters and follow-up emails.
Schedule and coordinate meetings with clients and internal teams.
Data Management and Analysis:

Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to support tax and audit processes.
Utilize tax software and accounting systems to input and manage data.
Generate reports and summaries of financial information for review by senior team members.
Team Support:

Provide administrative support to the tax and audit teams, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
Assist in training new team members on tax and audit procedures.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in tax preparation, auditing, or a related field is desirable.

Skills:
Strong knowledge of US tax laws and regulations.
Familiarity with GAAP and auditing standards.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TurboTax, ProSeries) and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
