Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and compliant tax returns for our clients, with a specific focus on data accuracy, adherence to tax regulations, and delivering high-quality work. This position is suited for individuals who are skilled in tax law, regulations, and software applications, and who prefer to work behind the scenes rather than directly interacting with clients. Your manager will be a Tagalog speaking American, and will be able to assist in communication and training. We seek to provide an opportunity for our staff to improve and grow in their tax skills, and offer consistent training to do so. However we can’t teach everything, so you NEED to have a background in US income documents or tax training. Responsibilities:

– Utilize your expertise in tax law, regulations, and guidelines to accurately prepare tax returns for a diverse range of clients.
– Gather and organize client-provided tax documents, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information.
– Input and review financial data in tax preparation software, making necessary adjustments and calculations as needed.
– Cross-reference data against tax forms, schedules, and documentation to verify accuracy and compliance.
– Stay current with updates to tax laws, regulations, and deductions to ensure accurate and up-to-date tax preparation.
– Collaborate with the client-care team to clarify information and resolve potential discrepancies.
– Maintain confidentiality of client information and sensitive financial data.
– Conduct quality control checks on completed tax returns to ensure accuracy and completeness.
– Assist with any necessary communication between client-facing staff and the tax preparation team to clarify information or address inquiries.
– Complete all assigned tax returns within established deadlines.
– Participate in weekly training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in tax preparation.
– Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax preparation, with a strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
Proficiency in using tax preparation software and tools.
Detail-oriented with exceptional numerical and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills, able to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
High level of integrity and dedication to maintaining client confidentiality.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Professional certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus.
