Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
– Prepares case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQ) assigned in the client portal.
– Reviews and bookmarks medical records and creates a synopsis in order to answer medical opinion questions, if needed, based on the veteran’s medical history.
– Remotely assists the medical provider during a scheduled appointment of a veteran by:
– Accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the medical provider’s computer in the exam room prior to the scheduled appointment.
– Remotely interviewing the veteran via the approved video or telephone conference platform.
– Transcribing the medical history based on the veteran’s answers to the questions in the DBQ.
– Remotely assisting the medical provider by documenting all the physical examination findings in the appropriate section of the DBQs.
– Completes all the sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
– Meets with medical providers to discuss each assigned case in order to determine the final diagnosis per DBQ and for approval of medical opinions.
– Transfers data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal.
– Submission of DBQs in the client portal.
– Answering queries/addendum reports from the client’s QAs.
– Coordinates with the medical providers and other team members regarding the scheduled appointments per day.

Qualifications:
– BSN, active PHRN license
– Must have good communication skills in order to assist the veterans, medical providers, and colleagues well.
– Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
– Must be flexible in work schedule changes, as needed.
– Must take accountability for all assigned cases.
– Must be proficient with the use of MS applications such as word, excel, and PowerPoint.
– Assists the VES-AC lead and/or VES Trainer in the improvement of the process.
– Assists in the creation of process-related templates, if needed.
– Perform other job-related duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Computer specs Requirement (work from home set up):
Fiber connection and has at least 20mbps download and upload speed
Has available backup internet minimum of 15mbps download and upload speed
Main desktop/laptop must be i5 to i7 w/ 8GB RAM
Backup desktop/laptop must be i3 to i5 w/ 4GB RAM
