Job Description

We are a food distribution company and we have been in the good food business in Canada for over 12 years. We are looking for a full-time permanent team member to join us for the long-term as a Purchasing Coordinator. This is a key role in our business which entails issuing Purchase Orders in a timely manner and following with suppliers on their estimated time to delivery.

This role requires performing the following kinds of tasks:
– Pulling data from systems and creating and updating reports using Google Sheets
– Calculating and verifying Purchase Orders using our own PO Calculator spreadsheet
– Creating and sending Purchase Orders to suppliers using our inventory management system
– Following up with suppliers by phone and email
– Responding to supplier enquiries promptly with tact and clear communication in near perfect English
– Filling out Excel forms and/or updating data in systems
– Emailing software support teams to help resolve minor technical issues
– Entering and maintaining data in various systems
– Updating documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using Word, Excel, Google Docs
– Communicating and coordinating with our team as well as suppliers and sometimes customers
– Other administrative tasks of a similar nature

You have:
– Great attention to details! You love detail work and are careful in your work.
– Excellent written English (Top 5% only please, you must have near perfect English to write emails and to have business conversations with our suppliers here in Canada)
– A passion for organization: you love planning, calendars, lists, etc. You enjoy setting up and improving processes and software to save time and increase productivity and efficiency
– Excellent communication skills, when in doubt you over-communicate!
– A love of continuous improvement and a positive constructive attitude
– Availability to work during Pacific daytime hours (7am to 3pm PST)
– Fast and Stable Internet and power with back up
– Very nice to have: experience with purchasing and/or managing suppliers (if so please highlight at the top of your intro message, tx!)
