About us:

We are a Sydney based, award-winning Landscape design & construction company that specialises in designing and constructing outdoor spaces for Schools, Child Care Centres and Parks. We love what we do, we have a great team and a solid reputation from 30 years of business operations.

The position:

We are looking for a remote team member to join our small, friendly design team. The successful applicant will complete a variety of vectorworks design and drafting tasks and also day-to-day admin tasks to help us run efficiently.

You will work closely with the design team in a rewarding working environment, and your income will be based on your previous experience with your ability to grow with the company.

Result statement:

The landscape design draftsperson is to work closely with the design team to deliver quality projects within set time frames that exceed customer expectations through innovative design and creative ideas expressed through clearly communicated, accurate details and plans.

The landscape design draftsperson is expected to achieve quality design outcomes with minimal oversight from the Design Manager. With a passion for good design, an eye for detail and a knack for problem solving, the landscape design draftsperson is self motivated, confident, ready to communicate, collaborate, learn and grow as part of the design team.

This role involves drafting, designing, recording, reporting and problem solving. The  landscape design draftsperson is to ensure designs are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with all relevant Australian Standards, Departmental Standards and ULP’s own internal ‘best practice’ guidelines and procedures.

Drafting tasks:

– Actively participate in all design operations of the Company

– Participate in weekly online meetings with Design team

– Drafting of clear, accurate landscape plans and construction detail drawings

– 3D drafting when required

– Liaise with construction team to develop construction details

– Maintain knowledge and adherence to Australian and Departmental standards (information and training will be provided)

Administration tasks:

– Record data requested by Design Manager – project hours, design pipeline, sales, invoicing, client feedback, etc

– Assist with the creation of reports outlining design sales and productivity, etc

– If requested, communicate with customers in regard to design progress, design changes, time-frame and adherence to scope.

Position requirements:

– Proficient with Google suite (Sheets, pages, etc.)

– A high level of Vectorworks proficiency

– Photoshop skills

– Sketchup or other 3D modelling skills

– Basic CANVA skills

– Very good English communication skills (writing and speaking)

– Strong organisational skills

– Detail-oriented mindset

– A proactive, future focussed mindset

– A positive attitude towards change

– Ability to identify the need, remove the barriers

– Good common sense and applied logic
