Job Description

This job post involves a few different types of video editing. Some is short form for some motivation videos I put out, some would be short form that my wife and I put out and the larger projects would be long form videos where some are talking head videos but most of them are going to take the footage from our travels and turn them into YouTube videos for a lifestyle travel vlog. I think if you can tell a story for a travel channel by piecing together an interesting story from video snippets, you can do any of the other task i would ask you to do.

Here’s the requirements for my company:

We are an entertainment booking agency here in the US. We get video clips from our entertainers that need to be cut down into small video clips or put together as a collage so we can show these clips to clients and prospects who want to see what these performers will look like when them come and perform at their event. Many of these clips are too long so we want to give a sample of what the entertainer does in one video clip made up of 30 sec. smaller clips. We want the clips to look professional so they need to fade in and fade out nicely.

Some of these clips have wording or graphics during the intro, middle or end which needs to be removed because we don’t give the prospects or clients any identifiable info of who the performer(s) are until after the contract is signed. Sometimes the band has their name on the drum set’s bass drum or they have a banner behind the band on stage or some other form of signage that we don’t want in the video.

It’s very helpful if you have an eye for musical performances and a good ear to figure out what are the best parts of each clip to string together into one nice video of these smaller clips. No single video needs to be more than 2 mins. with the combined clips which usually shouldn’t be more than 30 sec. a piece.

I would like to send you some clips of a performer or two and see how you piece the multiple clips together to make one nice clip with a nice fade in, fade out and all things that could identify the performer are either removed or blurred out such as the name of the band on the bass drum head or a sign behind the band giving away their name or the name of a DJ on the backside of their laptop, etc.

Here’s the requirements for our YouTube channel:

My wife and I have a Lifestyle Travel channel and we would like to find a video editor who could help take our raw footage and with a little guidance from us, piece together a compelling YouTube video for our channel. This is definitely the much more creative and fun part of the job as you would help us build up our channel with your storytelling capabilities and editing skills.

This could become a full-time position for the right person. I currently employ 3 other Filipino VAs and value how hard they work and if over time I see great work being produced, I open to raising the hourly rate or to a full time position/rate.

IMPORTANT!!
**Please send links to samples of you work as the first step in applying for this job.

Sending examples of travel videos you’ve edited, is really important. We’ve received a lot of short form video examples but those are easy and if you can do long form well, you should be able to do short form videos just as good.
