Job Brief

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and organizing raw footage, selecting the best shots, and editing them together to create a seamless and engaging final product.

Your expertise in video editing software and techniques will be crucial in enhancing the visual appeal of the footage. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of color grading, special effects, and transitions to create a visually stunning and captivating final project.

In addition to visuals, your ability to work with audio is equally important. You will be responsible for selecting and editing sound effects, music, and dialogue to enhance the overall storytelling experience. Your keen sense of timing and rhythm will be essential in creating a cohesive and immersive audiovisual experience.

You will need to be detail-oriented and have a keen eye for continuity and consistency. You will be responsible for ensuring that the final project maintains a seamless flow and that any technical issues or errors are addressed and corrected.

Responsibilities

– Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
– Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
– Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
– Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
– Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
– Create rough and final cuts
– Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
– Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
– Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.

Requirements and Skills

– Proven work experience as a Video Editor
– Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After – Effects and Final Cut)
– Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
– Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
– Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
– Creative mind and storytelling skills
– BS degree in film studies, cinematography or related field
