Job Description

My name is Thomas (Tommy) Ross and I’m looking for a video editor to edit videos for an upcoming YouTube channel that I will be creating with my partner Ryan Sands. Your job will be to take the raw footage from our recordings and condense it into a fast-paced video that includes the funniest and most important parts of the video to captivate an online audience. You will receive 30-60 minutes of raw footage and will be expected to cut it down into a 10-20 minute video. In addition to cutting the video down, you will also be expected to make it entertaining through a variety of techniques. For more information on this, please see the example video project below.

To begin, you will be paid per video. Payments will be distributed at the end of each month based on how many videos you edited for that month. All projects must be completed on time and meet the standards that we have set above. You will not receive payment for videos that are late or that don’t meet our standards. If you need time off it must be scheduled at least a week in advance. If there are emergency situations, we will discuss them accordingly.

As the channel grows we will be looking to expand, giving us opportunities to promote our team members. This means that if you do a good job and accomplish your tasks, you will be able to receive promotions in the future that will be accompanied by an increase in pay.

Things that you need:
– A portfolio with examples of your video editing work.
– A secure internet connection.
– An updated version of Adobe Premiere Pro.
– Good communication skills.
– Excellent English, both writing and speaking.
– Knowledge of J-Cuts and L-Cuts.
– Multicam sequence experience.
– Good understanding of comedic timing and video theory.
– The required knowledge and skills to create videos to our standard.

Benefits:
– Flexible Work Schedule (It doesn’t matter when you do the work as long as the videos are completed and turned in by the required due date)
– Flexible Time Off If Requested (1 Week in Advance)
– Monthly Payments
– Promotion Opportunities

To ensure that you have the skills required to make a video that fits the style we prefer, we’d like for you to complete an example project. Please note that if you don’t complete this project, you won’t be considered for this position. Here: /drive/folders/1m-COJ3SlexmB7ckV0I1b-wN3Ww_LBIBm?usp=share_link you will find a link to a folder that contains two presets and a short video that we would like for you to edit and return to us. Here is a quick guide to help you create a video to our specifications:
– The video should be 1080p
– The raw footage is 22 minutes long and the final cut should be 8 – 12 minutes long
– You will separate the webcam footage from the gameplay footage and switch between the two for comedic effect
– Cut down the video to the most important, entertaining, and funny moments with seamless transitions
– If you see fit, add background songs throughout the video to enhance the overall flow of the video
– Add sound effects for comedic purposes
– Add zooms for comedic or dramatic effect
– Make sure the audio levels are at the appropriate levels for all situations
– Censor any instances of the f-word you come across either with a traditional censor sound or a fun sound effect
– Add any pictures, clips, memes, etc that you believe may enhance certain parts of the video

The video should be entertaining, funny, smooth, exciting, and tell a short story within the game we are playing. Be creative and add your own personal style to the editing within the video.

To send the video properly, open premiere pro and go to File> project manager. Ensure “Collect Files and Copy to New Location” is toggled. Under “Options”, make sure “Include Audio Conform Files” is toggled. Choose the place where you want to save your project and then click “OK”. Find your project under your files and compress it using 7zip. Finally, please email your project to .

To help me find the best candidates for the job, please answer the following questions below in your application. If you fail to answer these questions, your application will not be reviewed:
1) How many years have you been editing with Adobe Premiere Pro?
2) Please add a link to your portfolio here.
3) Do you have any experience editing videos similar to those we’d like to create? If so, please share a link.
4) Do you currently have an updated version of Adobe Premiere Pro?
5) What is your Discord username? (Don’t forget the four numbers at the end of it)
6) What is your favorite animal and why?
7) Here you can add anything else you’d like to add about yourself.

If we think you make a good fit for this position, we will message you back to schedule an interview. Thank you for your time, and we hope to be working with you soon.
