About Us:
Talkin’ Trash Podcast is a weekly podcast hosted by two friends dedicated to producing high-quality content in the realm of sports, news, entertainment, culture, and gaming. We recently took a hiatus due to editorial burnout, so we decided to find an editor who could help us so we could focus entirely on the content and not the editing aspect of a video podcast. We pride ourselves on delivering engaging, funny, and thought-provoking content to our audience, and we are looking for a video editor who is interested in being part of a growing show. As we grow and scale, so will your responsibilities and pay.

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Video Editor to join our team and play a key role in enhancing the visual and audio appeal of our talking head podcast. As a Video Editor, you will have the opportunity to produce compelling video content that complements the podcast.

Responsibilities:

-Edit raw footage from podcast recordings to create visually appealing videos that maintain the integrity of the content.
– Incorporate graphics, text overlays, and other visual elements to enhance the viewer experience.
-Ensure seamless transitions, proper pacing, and overall continuity throughout the video.
-Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the quality of our video content.
-Manage and organize video assets, ensuring efficient workflow and file management.

Requirements:

-From past experience, we expect editing to take approx. 4 to 6 hours of your time weekly.
-Proven experience as a Video Editor, preferably in the realm of podcasting, broadcasting, or digital media.
-Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, PowerDirector, or similar.
-Strong understanding of video production principles, including color grading, audio mixing, and visual storytelling.
-Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
-Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with different editing techniques and styles.
-Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction and feedback effectively.

Bonus Skills (Not Required But Sought After):

Can create engaging thumbnails for YouTube content.
Experience with motion graphics and animation.
Knowledge of podcasting platforms and best practices for video optimization.
Familiarity with social media platforms and trends for video content distribution.

During our initial employee search, we will be taking applications. From those applications, we will decide if you look to be a good fit. After selecting several people, we give those chosen a past recording to edit to showcase their skills. From those edited video demonstrations, we will choose one of you to become our permanent video editor. All people chosen to create a demo will be paid $25 for their time. The person chosen as our primary video editor will be paid $35 per video edited from that time onward.
