The Video Editor will be primarily responsible for editing videos for small businesses’ social media marketing. This job will have you working on new projects each week for a wide number of US-based companies. This will involve reading a project brief (English), cutting and editing film, managing and splicing scenes and inserting music/sound/text/effects until it meets the client’s approval. Essentially you will be the project manager for each new video production. This includes having a great amount of creative control and freedom over each project. This is role requires commitment, responsibility, communication, organization and a high level of attention to detail! Your ability to do the little things right, read instructions thoroughly and communicate with our team will determine your success! These things are much more important than your technical ability to edit video. Primary Responsibilities:
Edit video recordings to a very high standard, until it meets the director’s specifications, in order to produce material for campaigns, events, interviews, corporate training videos, and other video-based projects.
Color correct VLOG & SLOG footage (this can be taught but experience is preferred)
Sound mastering & ability to work with multiple audio sources
Source background music and audio from online sources
Create and edit motion graphics to an excellent standard
Watch and rearrange scenes and determine which will end up on the editing timeline.
Work with and manipulate raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
Insert music, sound, text, and effects and determine which camera angles to use.
Organize footage and communicate through Whatsapp, Loom & Zoom (video call) with team members.
Secondary Responsibilities
Edit stills, create graphics, and retouch as needed for video intros/outros.
Create thumbnail images & social media graphics
Check films for damage.
Purge damaged or old tapes.
Accurately archive existing video assets and create archiving standards for future use, such as naming content, file size and type requirements.
Create video animations
Pull background music & footage from the internet to include in edits.

Ability to store large files on Google Drive / Cloud
Ability to upload and download large video files in a timely manner
Meet hard deadlines
Communicate with team members
Ability to make one short weekly Zoom meeting on camera
Manage multiple client projects in Asana (Asana can be taught)
High speed internet (upload and download)
