Video Editor – Descript

In this role, you will primarily be editing videos using Descript. Please only apply if you are experienced with Descript.

Aside from video editing, there will be some times you need to design graphics or create other visual content so you will need a good eye for design to help with designing websites, editing videos, and creating Facebook and social media advertisements.

About the role:
– We work completely asynchronous. There will be very few meetings. All communication is done via a project management software and messaging app.
– I respect your off-hours: no expectation to work after-hours or on weekend; normal 9-5 is great.
– If you have other jobs on the side that is okay and even encouraged but if hired for a full-time role, I expect to get 8 hours of dedicated work from you per day.
– Every day will be different. Some days there will be Shorts/TikToks, some days it’s editing podcasts, some days it’s logo design, course creation, or simple animations.

Expectations:
– Prompt communication – timely responses to messages
– Clear communication about what you’re working on and any questions in the form of daily updates
– For the first two months, you must be comfortable using Timeproof. We will get away from it as soon as possible but I find it is useful in the beginning for learning how we work best together.

Compensation:
– The role starts at $400-500 per month, paid weekly every Friday.
– Payments made via EasyPay, PayPal, or Remitly.

Bonus if you’ve worked with the following platforms:
– Carrd for web design
– CapCut, DaVinci resolve or other video editing softwares
– Run ads on social media – especially YouTube and Facebook
– Canva – logo and graphic design

I am looking for someone to work with for the long-term. I want someone who brings pride to their work and can grow with the company. Over time, I would love to increase your salary and responsibilities. If you don’t mention your experience with Descript in your reply (even if it’s to say “I’ve never used it but I’m willing to learn”), I won’t consider your application.
