We are looking for a talented Video Editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the team and Podcast client’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting on numerous video sharing platforms. You’re tasked with taking the raw footage shot by a film crew and director and turning it into the final product. This means following an outline, script or shot list and assembling the footage into one cohesive video or film. Often in video and film work, there are many camera angles and takes recorded.
Key Qualifications:
Must be skilled in color corrections, audio mixing for video, animations + well versed in video recording hardware and tools + internal and client communication skills to understand the creative vision
Job Responsibilities
– Manipulating and editing film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
– Taking a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
– Reviewing shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
– Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
– Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
– Create rough and final cuts
– Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
– Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
– Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
Skill Set
– Proven work experience as a Video Editor
– Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
– Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
– Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
– Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
– Creative mind and storytelling skills
– Knowledge of online design platforms (Canva, Beautiful AI, or the likes)
– Strong portfolio/reel demonstrating a clean and modern aesthetic
– Strong understanding of theory and aesthetics of graphics creation, colour creation, video editing and audio mixing
– Exceptional visual design skills with an emphasis on conceptual storytelling
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a range of individuals as needed in the creation of projects
– Strong working knowledge of the strengths and limitations of presentation technology including aspect ratios, projectors, sound, and video equipment
– Strong working knowledge of image formats, resolution, and size to support multiple communication platforms
– Natural collaborator and ability to work and thrive in teams
– Welcome in mentoring other colleagues / other members of the team
– Has knowledge of the Education System in the U.S.
– Ability to independently estimate work and manage time
– Be flexible and solution oriented
