Video Editor – Podcast Clip Extraction Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and creative Video Editor to join our team, focusing on extracting vertical video clips from our weekly podcasts. The Video Editor will work closely with our content team to create engaging short clips with added graphics, animations, and other visual elements. The ideal candidate will have experience working with video editing software and a strong passion for storytelling through video content.

Responsibilities:

Review and watch two podcast episodes per week, identifying potential segments for vertical video extraction.
Edit and optimize extracted clips for vertical video format, ensuring proper framing and composition.
Enhance extracted clips with engaging graphics, animations, zoom-ins, zoom-outs, and other visual elements to create attention-grabbing content.
Collaborate with the content team to ensure that video clips are aligned with the overall messaging and branding of the podcast.
Utilize the Descript platform, as needed, to assist with editing and transcription tasks.
Maintain an organized library of extracted video clips and source materials for future reference.
Monitor audience engagement and feedback to refine video editing techniques and strategies.
Stay up-to-date on the latest video editing trends and techniques, applying them as needed to enhance the quality of extracted video clips.
Perform basic audio editing, as needed, to ensure clear and consistent sound quality in extracted video clips.
Meet established deadlines for video clip delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements:

2+ years of experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio demonstrating editing skills.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or other similar tools.
Experience with graphic design and animation tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for visual storytelling.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with Descript or similar video editing and transcription platforms is a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
A passion for podcasting and an understanding of the podcast industry and audience trends.
