Hey there!
My name is Toby and I love to help people flourish as people, and the way I can help is with online business. If you are a video editor who cares about these things, let’s keep talking.
I run an online publishing business, and my company creates puzzle books for adults and seniors so they can stay sharp mentally and be fully with their families for as long as they live. I’ve been doing the business for nearly 2 years now, and have a lot of knowledge I would like to give to others who are just starting their journey so they can skip the mistakes I made and get straight to success – and fun – in their journey.
I can’t say how long I will be making videos for, but I want to try it, and I’ll need a good editor who is aligned on the vision and gets joy from helping people grow 🙂
“How Good Do I Have To Be At Editing?”
– I need someone who is skilled at editing, BUT I do not need someone who is all about crazy effects. For the most part, the edits will be very simple. The main skill set (other than really good editing skills) is pacing and storytelling. If you can help the video move along and not feel too slow, and if you can cut the parts that don’t help the story, we will be a great fit.
Expectations:
– Editing 1-4 videos/month. I expect 1 per month for now, but this may change.
– Communicate clearly with each other – if we can’t communicate clearly this won’t work well.
– You must be able to speak and write English very, very well. Our audience is almost all US-based.
– I put 5 hours/week on the post because they needed a number. I do not know how many hours it will be – depends on the amount of videos in a month, length of those videos, amount of motion graphics/etc.
What I Really Would Like From You:
– I would love someone who is actually interested in the vision of helping people with really good storytelling and education. If this is not you, please do not apply. And if you do, please be clear about it in your application so I know where you are coming from.
– I would love someone who is really good at *pacing* and *storytelling.* (This includes great sound design of course.) My style is very conversational, and I need someone who can help cut out the clips that aren’t important, and to keep the ones that are. Pacing and storytelling are the most important to me.
If you read this far, please start your application with the phrase, “Pancakes for Dinner” so I know 🙂 It helps me know you read to the end.
Thank you for your time! And I look forward to talking with you.
Toby
