Crate Media is seeking a virtual assistant to help intake and process podcast video footage. The Video Footage Manager will receive and verify the accuracy of client submitted footage, check footage for errors, convert video files to proper formats when necessary, and provide footage to the rest of the Crate team once complete.
**PLEASE NOTE** Video footage takes up large amounts of storage; this role requires a powerful PC/Mac, plenty of external SSD storage space, and very fast internet upload speeds. See below for further requirements.
Passion for the podcast industry is important but not required; the ideal candidate listens to podcasts regularly, follows their favorite shows on social media, and watches podcasts on YouTube. Prior video editing experience is a bonus, but not required. For the right candidate, this position could lead to video editing opportunities in the future.
The commitment at hiring is 3-4 episodes per week with the potential to add more shows for the right candidate. You must have **ALL** of the following qualifications to apply:
– Great command of the English language (speaking & writing)
– A very strong understanding of video footage, file types, video formats, frame rates, etc
– ACCESS TO HIGH-SPEED INTERNET, laptop, and phone at home (with a quiet and dedicated workspace at home).
– VERY organized and excellent attention to detail.
– Willing to learn new things with an optimistic attitude.
– Savvy with online tech tools (or a very fast learner when trained).
– Team player who is proactive, flexible and a good critical thinker
– Excellent time management skills (self-motivated and able to meet deadlines).
Tech Tools + Sample Tasks:
Working with online tech tools and social media is required since we are 100% an online business.
We will provide detailed videos and checklists showing you step-by-step how to complete all the tasks and you will receive on-the-job training; but it’s important you have some basic knowledge of these tools.
When you apply, please copy this list below and mark the following online tech tools you’re familiar with and what level you consider yourself to be (beginner, intermediate, or advanced level).
– Handbrake – to import, process, and convert video footage to proper formats when required.
– LucidLink – cloud storage for all internal production files, templates, and audio/video footage
– Google Drive – view and sort through files and folders, follow file naming conventions, and upload final content to Drive. Additionally, using ‘Google Drive for Desktop’ is suggested to better interface with Google Drive directly on your computer’s desktop (Finder in MacOS).
– ClickUp – view and prioritize assigned tasks, navigate between different folders, lists, and views, and differentiate between parent tasks and sub-tasks. (If you don’t have experience with ClickUp directly, please share what other project management apps you’ve used).
– Slack – for all inter-company communications, checking on project status with other team members, and asking questions about tasks and processes.
We are happy to train the right person who is going to grow with Crate and our clientele long-term.
If you’re interested, please copy the words “Video Footage Manager + [your first name]” in your headline reply so we know you fully read this job description and have good attention to detail. Generic copy/paste responses will be deleted.
If you have recommendations from a previous employer(s), please share It.
Your work schedule will be completely flexible and under your control; instead of set hours, we work off of project deadlines, and you’ll organize your schedule around your task due dates. The majority of the Crate team is in U.S. Eastern Time Zone, with some in U.S. Pacific Time.
WAGE: $15 USD per episode.
As a valued member of our team, we will invest in growing your skillset, personal development and professional growth.
