Essential Requirements:
Mastery of Xero accounting software, including but not limited to bank reconciliation, custom report generation, and advanced settings
Highly comfortable with online applications, whether on desktop or mobile
A minimum of 2 years in an advanced accounting role with a heavy focus on Xero
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across platforms such as phone, messaging apps, and email
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent, as well as Google Sheets
Demonstrated ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
Experience in the UK property sector is a significant plus
Job Objectives:
To be the go-to expert in implementing and troubleshooting Xero accounting processes.
To oversee and improve sales and purchase ledger, providing periodic reports to the accounting team.
To complete all accounting projects and tasks with high technical accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Xero Operations (50%)
1.1. Oversee bank reconciliations in Xero.
1.2. Generate and customise detailed financial reports for property management.
1.3. Perform in-depth data analysis to assist with business decisions.
1.4. Implement best practices for data entry and integrity in Xero.
Sales and Purchase Ledger Management (30%)
2.1. Utilise Xero for tracking and on charging all income or purchase related balances.
2.2. Match sales and purchases with landlords.
2.3. Ensure that all sales transactions align with income records within Xero.
Compliance and Administrative Support (20%)
3.1. Use Xero to assist with compliance and tax reporting.
3.2. Perform internal audits within Xero, identifying areas for improvement.
3.3. Ensure the accounting team is up-to-date with the latest Xero functionalities and updates.
Pre-Interview Qualifying Questions:
1. Describe an instance where you had to perform complex bank reconciliations in Xero. How did you approach it, and what were the outcomes?
2. Explain your experience in generating custom reports within Xero. What was the purpose of the report, and how did it benefit the business?
3. Share an example where you identified and corrected a data integrity issue within Xero.
4. How do you stay updated with the latest features and updates in Xero? Provide an example where a new feature significantly aided your accounting tasks.
5. Can you walk us through your workflow for tracking and reconciling income-related balances within Xero?
6. What is your experience in automating accounting tasks and processes in Xero?
