About me and True Bearing:
Hi, I’m Peter Laughter, and I am starting a new consultancy that is committed to guiding organizations through this current age of disruption. I am an entrepreneur with a history in the recruiting and staffing space. Currently I am setting off on a new endeavor and will be building a consultancy that helps companies flatten their hierarchy and build more human organizations that are resilient and resourceful in the face of rapid change. As a first step, I am creating a talk to deliver at conferences and corporate events, to raise awareness of the issues and to open consulting opportunities. I am looking for a virtual assistant to help with the process. Together we will be assisting companies in transitioning from traditional hierarchies to network systems of distributed authority, fostering adaptability and innovation in the face of transformational change.

What You Will be Doing:
Your primary role will be to manage the process of acquiring speaking engagements, identify opportunities by creating Google Alerts and conducting Google searches to find relevant conferences. You will respond to and manage requests for speaker applications and follow up with decision makers, using our CRM to stay on top of opportunities. You will help with projects like creating a second brain for keeping insights and data, automating workflows, and setting up new programs and systems. On the marketing front, you will help me create content, engage with our online community, and employ your creative skills to polish graphics and written materials. Eventually, as we get to trust each other, you will take over the management of my email. There will be ample room for you to identify and take on passion projects that will advance our purpose.

Who You Are:
You’re a self-motivated individual who is curious and ambitious with a background of strong communication. You have a bachelor’s degree or significant experience with writing and research in environments where communication is critical. You excel at learning new technologies and have a talent for organizing. You are curious about marketing and perhaps have done some work in that area. Independent and creative, you’re ready to grow your career and help shape innovative, resilient organizations.

The position pays between $280 and $400 a week (depending on experience) plus commission and 2 weeks paid vacation a year. We will need to meet within Eastern Standard Time but outside of our meetings you will set your schedule.
