Canelo Partners is a U.S.-based investment company known as a “search fund” with a single mission: find and buy one company in the United States. Finding that business is incredibly difficult, and may take up to two years.

My name is Andres Salata. I’m the Principal of Canelo Partners and I recently graduated from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In this role, you’ll work directly with me and provide essential support to the success of the fund.

I’m hiring a Virtual Assistant to support our outreach to companies and business owners and support the operations of the fund. You can read more about the company at .

Your responsibilities will increase over time, as you develop your capabilities and demonstrate your abilities. Your main work will include:

1. Contact Information List Validation: Locate missing contact information. This includes validating the email addresses already available. This involves using Google, online resources, and databases.

2. Company List Building: Creating lists of potential investment opportunities (companies) in a certain industry. This involves using Google, online resources, and internal databases to identify suitable targets.

3. Market Research: Identify industries of interest. Summarize findings and provide reports to assist the investment team in decision-making. At the start of your application, please indicate how many investors are backing Canelo Partners (listed on the “Team” page of the Canelo Partners’ website) if you want to be considered for this position.

4. Administrative Tasks: Assist with general administrative duties as required, including scheduling, document preparation, and other tasks to support the smooth operation of the investment fund.

* Qualifications *
(+) Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken
(+) Experience in lead generation and list building
(+) Strong attention to detail and ability to closely follow written procedures
(+) In the absence of written procedures, a willingness to creatively solve problems and overcome challenges
(+) Honesty and comfort with learning from mistakes
(+) Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
(+) Excellent organizational and communication skills

* Work Environment *

Hours: 8AM – 4PM Philippine Standard Time – Our meetings will typically be at 8AM your time ( 8PM my time)
Daily Updates: I’ll ask you to provide a daily update in addition to your work
Tools: We’ll use Google, gmail and Google Docs for most tasks
Training: I’ll provide training materials and video walkthroughs of most technical tasks. I’ll expect you to ask questions to build your understanding, and contribute to improving our training materials
