Job Description:
As an Estimator Assistant at MSE Environmental, you will play a vital role in supporting our estimating team in accurately assessing project costs and preparing bids for environmental remediation projects. You will collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and clients to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for environmental remediation projects, including material quantities, labor costs, subcontractor expenses, and equipment requirements.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements and develop accurate estimates.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and field staff, to gather inputs and ensure accurate estimation.
• Support the procurement team in soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids and quotations.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documents.
• Assist in the preparation of bid packages and proposal materials.
• Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitiveness in estimating.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in construction estimating or a similar role is an asset.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
• Knowledge of environmental remediation and regulatory requirements is a plus.
