Job Description

Given our company’s recent acquisition of Minority Certification Status in NYC, with NYS and 8(a) certifications pending, we are actively seeking someone who can expertly navigate the grant application process.

Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct comprehensive research to identify grant opportunities available to small businesses in NYC, with a keen eye for those favoring minority-certified businesses.
– Meticulously manage the preparation and customization of grant applications to align with our company’s unique profile and the grantors’ requirements.
– Collect, organize, and safeguard all necessary documents, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and ready for submission.
– Uphold the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive business information throughout the grant application process.
– Meet all application deadlines and actively engage in follow-up communications with grantors to monitor application status.
– Explore and apply for private funding opportunities, including bank loans and private grants, with the ability to assess and match our needs with the right financial products.

Qualifications:
– Proven experience in grant writing and funding applications, preferably with a track record of successful grant acquisitions.
– Exceptional organizational and project management skills to handle multiple applications and deadlines efficiently.
– Strong communication skills for liaising with funding bodies and internal teams.
– Absolute discretion when handling confidential information.
– Initiative and foresight to ensure timely follow-ups and application progression.
– Capability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining high-quality standards and consistent performance.

Additional Qualities:
– A thorough understanding of the different funding mechanisms suitable for small and minority-owned businesses.
– Familiarity with financial documentation and the ability to help prepare financial statements if required for applications.
– An adaptable and proactive approach to deal with the evolving landscape of grants and funding.
– The ideal candidate must possess a combination of precision, perseverance, and proactive communication to not only apply for grants but also to seek out all possible funding avenues, maximizing the opportunities for our business’s growth.
– We are looking for someone who can commit long-term, as this role is pivotal to our strategic funding objectives and the expansion of our enterprise. This may begin on a part time basis.
