Job Description

As an Executive Assistant with an extensive payroll background, you play a crucial role in managing payroll processes, computation, and ensuring compliance with California labor laws. Your expertise in payroll formulas, commission calculations, and software operations, particularly with Gusto and PestPac, will contribute to the seamless and accurate execution of payroll-related tasks. Additionally, your diligent and resourceful approach will be essential in monitoring technician activities, addressing discrepancies, and maintaining effective communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute payroll processes using the Gusto app, ensuring accuracy and compliance with California labor laws.
• Compute commissions for technicians based on monthly work volume and California law, considering overtime rates.
• Monitor technician activities through Linxup (GPS) to ensure efficient operations and adherence to schedules.
• Collaborate with a software company using PestPac for operational tasks, including tracking sales and managing schedules.
• Generate reports related to payroll, technician activities, and sales, demonstrating proficiency in report writing.
• Address and resolve discrepancies in technician work hours, ensuring accurate payroll computations.
• Constantly communicate with technicians to provide guidance, address concerns, and maintain a positive working relationship.
• Collaborate with the software company to implement creative solutions and enhancements around PestPac.
• Act as a problem-solver in handling challenges related to payroll, technician scheduling, and software operations.
• Maintain a high level of diligence in tracking and managing payroll-related tasks and technician activities.
• Ad hoc tasks from the client.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Extensive background in payroll management, including the use of payroll software such as Gusto.
• In-depth knowledge of California labor laws, particularly about payroll and overtime calculations.
• Proficiency in computing commissions based on work volume and hourly rates.
• Experience with GPS monitoring tools, specifically Linxup, for tracking technician activities.
• Familiarity with operational software, with specific experience in PestPac.
• Strong report writing skills to generate accurate and insightful reports related to payroll and operations.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with technicians and software company representatives.
• Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies, and challenges, and implement creative solutions.
• Diligent work ethic and attention to detail in managing payroll tasks and technician activities.
• Resourcefulness in handling various aspects of payroll and operational responsibilities.
• Undergo 3 days of paid training. If there’s an urgency for the role, then the new hire must render an hour of paid OT before or after the shift for 3 weeks.
• Amenable to work Monday through Friday either 8 AM to 12 NN or 1 PM to 5 PM Pacific Standard Time.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Certification in payroll management or relevant professional certification.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the software or technology industry.
• Advanced proficiency in using PestPac and other relevant software applications.
• Knowledge of additional payroll and scheduling tools to enhance efficiency.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and creative solutions.
• Familiarity with the pest control industry and its unique operational challenges.
• Ability to adapt to evolving software solutions and industry best practices.
