Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager at LTA Trading and Shipping will play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding our presence in the bulk commodities market, with a specific focus on ICUMSA 45 Sugar. The primary responsibilities of this role include setting up the necessary systems and documentation, establishing a strong presence on social media platforms, especially Linkedin, and leveraging these channels to generate leads and drive sales. The successful candidate should possess a deep understanding of Documentary Letters of Credit (DLC) and Letter of Credit (LC) transactions, along with a strong aptitude for negotiation. In this role, success will be incentivized based on achieving and exceeding sales performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System and Documentation Setup:
– Develop and implement robust systems and documentation procedures for the trade of bulk commodities, specifically ICUMSA 45 Sugar.
– Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and standards.
2. Social Media Presence:
– Establish and maintain a strong presence on social media platforms, with a primary focus on LinkedIn.
– Create and manage content that showcases our products and expertise in the commodities industry.
– Engage with potential clients and industry peers through social media to generate leads.
3. Lead Generation:
– Identify, research, and qualify potential leads and business opportunities.
– Develop a proactive outreach strategy to attract new clients and partners.
4. Understanding of DLC and LC:
– Possess a deep understanding of Documentary Letters of Credit (DLC) and Letter of Credit (LC) transactions.
– Work closely with financial and legal teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
5. Negotiation and Sales:
– Conduct negotiations with potential clients to secure contracts and sales agreements.
– Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
6. Sales Performance:
– Set and achieve sales targets, with incentives linked to successful performance.
Qualifications:
– Exceptional English
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
– Proven experience in business development and sales in the bulk commodities industry, with a focus on ICUMSA 45 Sugar.
– In-depth knowledge of Documentary Letters of Credit (DLC) and Letter of Credit (LC) transactions.
– Exceptional negotiation skills and a track record of successful deal closures.
– Proficiency in using social media platforms for business development, especially LinkedIn.
– Self-driven and results-oriented with a passion for sales.
– Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
– Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
