Job Description

Hello, I’m hiring a part-time, on-call virtual medical assistant to help with day-to-day management of the administrative needs of a naturopathic medical practice. After establishing and meeting daily needs, there is room for growth and development of projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
– Proof of previous successful work as an assistant in a medicine/health-related field
– Familiarity with electronic health records systems
– Excellent formal spoken and written English communication skills
– Excellent professional email and text message communication skills
– Excellent time management skills
– Experience with Google Suite (docs, sheets, email)

ABOUT THE JOB:

Please read through and assure that you are competent in completing all of the following:
– Communication with doctor, patients, lab companies, and other medical representatives
– Check and respond to emails
– Check appointment requests
– Make, answer, and return phone calls
– Make, receive, and answer text messages
– Triage patient concerns according to learned responses and templates
– Communicate with the doctor about any specific issues or requests patients have
– Patient visits and scheduling:
– Schedule patient visits in Charm EHR online scheduling system
– Complete checkouts post-appointments (schedule, charge patients, approve Invoices)
– Manage the doctor’s schedule for the week, streamline appointments, and fill in time gaps
– Keep notes of a waiting list and follow-up with patients as times become available
– Send zoom links to patients before their visits
– Laboratories:
– Manage patient labs
– Order when necessary
– Check for results
– Follow up with patients who have not completed labs
– Offer guidance/assistance on completion of labs
– Uploading lab results when available
– Update lab tracker (only for labs not ordered in Rupa)
– Upload all other patient documentation provided by patient, lab companies, or other providers
– Other tasks as outlined by the doctor
– Potential for professional development through additional projects, marketing, and social media management

– Competitive starting rate
– Pay monthly (weekly is negotiable)
– Pay increases based upon performance
