We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Virtual Paralegal to join our personal injury law firm. The Virtual Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to our legal team remotely by assisting in legal research, case management, client communication, document preparation, and various administrative tasks. Responsibilities:
1. Legal Research:
– Conduct in-depth legal research on specific case-related matters, including statutes, regulations, case law, legal precedents, and industry trends.
– Summarize and analyze legal information to support attorneys in developing case strategies.
– Regularly monitor and update legal databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
2. Case Management:
– Assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases by organizing case files, maintaining document management systems, and tracking relevant case deadlines.
– Collaborate with attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
– Maintain digital and physical files, ensuring they are properly referenced and easily accessible.
3. Client Communication:
– Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts, primarily through phone and email, to schedule appointments, arrange interviews, and obtain relevant information.
– Provide support to clients by explaining legal processes, collecting necessary documents or evidence, and addressing any queries or concerns promptly.
4. Document Preparation:
– Prepare and draft legal documents, including correspondence, affidavits, contracts, agreements, and memos, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal procedures and guidelines.
– Proofread and edit documents for grammar, punctuation, and formatting before submission.
5. Administrative Support:
– Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, organizing meetings, and managing deadlines.
– Support attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by assembling relevant documents, exhibits, and witness lists.
– Coordinate with external agencies, court personnel, and other legal professionals as required.
Requirements:
1. Education and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
– A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
– Virtual paralegal experience and proficiency in remote collaboration tools are highly desirable.
2. Knowledge and Skills:
– Thorough understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and personal injury law.
– Proficient in legal research techniques using online databases and other legal resources.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
– Proficiency in using legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
