Job Description

Hello! I’m looking for a design partner to help me scale client projects, as I don’t have bandwidth to do it all myself. This would be be a fairly collaborative role, working directly with me without any need for client interaction. This role would be primarily production-focused, extending the look and feel of designs I have started, or kickstarting the projects I haven’t had a chance to get to yet. I will be highly involved in reviewing projects and iterating upon them together, and as a result, I’m desiring someone that is detail-oriented, organized, and open to feedback.

The projects would include things like: websites, illustration, iconography, and UI, to name a few. This person should be an expert on the main design tools, such as Illustrator, Figma, and Framer. If you know some but not all, please feel free to still apply as the skills are very transferable. Framer especially can be learned later if you are qualified in all other areas. I care more about your design abilities and attitude than specific program knowledge.

This has the opportunity to grow to more hours, potentially full-time for the right person, but I’d like to start small with 5 hours a week and see if it’s a good fit.

If you are interested, please include a sample of past work and complete the following exercise.

Design exercise:
1. Here is a mural I made a few years ago: /shots/7450694-Core-Values-Mural. I’d like for you to showcase the ability to parallel style of illustration by drawing an icon of a bridge and an apple in the same style. You don’t need to place it within the mural, just draw the two isolated objects. Keep in mind color, thickness of stroke, and style.
2. Pick any of the sets of icons shown here: /icons. And draw two more icons depicting anything of your choosing that match the same style of the rest of the set. Make sure to follow the size specified and pixel-align on the grid.
3. Let’s pretend I designed this webpage: /shots/22373765-Starla-Ecommerce-Landing-Page. Design either an “About” page or a checkout “Cart” page in Figma that looks like it would go with it, following the same patterns. You don’t need to do both, and I don’t need to see a high level of creativity—I just want to get a sense of your ability to extend a style within the same ecosystem. Simple is okay. I recommend using images from , but feel free to pull from anywhere for this exercise. No need to match fonts exactly, just pick something that looks close. For copy, you can just use “lorem ipsum” as placeholder: .

Requirements:
1. Everything should be placed in a Figma file for review. You don’t need to give me edit access, view access is fine. You can use Illustrator for the icons and illustrations, but just paste into a page in Figma for easier review.
2. Please make sure everything is editable so I can see how you built it. For example, the website’s layers should be visible and icons should have live strokes.
3. Bonus points if all of your files and layers are cleanly organized and clearly named.

Submission:
Please submit the link to your completed exercise here: /to/ucr4lNpU or through the messages portal.
